Kaya's 12 month stats

Halloween 2012 -- 2 weeks old
Halloween 2013 -- One year old!

It's crazy that my sweet little Kaya Rose is already one year old!  She is such happy, talkative baby -- we love her so much!

Compare to Lucy's Twelve month stats here

Height: 29" (45%)
Weight: 20 lbs 2 oz (30%)
Teeth: two

Words: Dada -- she parrots about anything we say, so it's hard to tell what words she actually knows
Signs: More, all done, drink (she signs drink for breast milk too), eat (when prompted), plus she loves to wave "hi!" Lately, she just signs "more" and hopes we do what she wants.

Favorite Food: Avocado (she could eat an entire avocado!), cucumber, frozen peas, Mac and Cheese, anything sugary, breast milk
Least Favorite Food: Applesauce

Loving some cake batter!

Favorite Book: I See Me -- she has finally started loving books! Yesterday she brought me a book, signed "more" and then turned around and sat on my lap so I could read it to her.  I love it!
Favorite Song: Happy Birthday, Rock-a-Bye Baby (she tries to sing this to her dolls -- it is the cutest thing ever!), Here's a Ball for Baby

She often makes this face and says "Ooooh oooh!" It's darling!

Likes: Walking (she started primarily walking right after her birthday), Lucy, dolls, chasing people, peek-a-boo, necklaces, looking at pictures of animals and trying to say their sounds

Dislikes: When Lucy takes her toys

Leading the birthday song!
Yes, her entire hand is in her cake. =)
How can you not love this face???

Kaya making animal sounds.  This video is pretty long, I won't be offended if you don't watch the whole thing! =)

It's What Fun Is...

The other day (okay, clear back in August), Logan's work paid for everyone to go to Lagoon!  It was awesome!

We went on the Merry Go Round first, to ease her in...

We weren't sure how Lucy would do, but she LOVED it!  She is barely 36" so she got to go on most of the kids rides.  I was impressed with how brave she was!

She loved this ride, and even put her arms in the air!

This is like a mini Rocket ride.  She went on it 3 times!
Kaya was a trooper!

This was her favorite!

After we had lots of fun with the kids, we dropped them off with my awesome parents, and they watched the kids while Logan and I went back to go on the fun rides! =)  Thanks Mom and Dad!

Would I pay for my kids to go again soon?  Probably not.  But it was super fun to go for free! =)

Kaya's 9 month stats!

Weight: 17 lbs 14 oz (40%)
Length: 26.5" (25%)
Teeth: Two!  So much earlier than Lucy!

If you look close, you can see her teeth!

Least Favorite Food: Anything we try to spoon feed her

Mashed potato face!

Favorite Song: Slippery Fish, other action songs
Favorite Book: All God's Critters, although she mostly just tries to eat books

She loves to drum!

Likes: Standing, walking (the second she grabs our hands she tries to lead us around so she can walk), exploring, swimming, her fisher-price barn, eating by herself, exploring, watching Lucy, drumming
Dislikes: Sitting still (holding Kaya is like holding one of these toys), when Lucy tries to force her to do anything, cuddling
Words: She ALMOST knows "more" and "all done."
Mobility: Army crawling like a champ!  And cruising all over the place!

Here is a little video of her walrus crawl.  =)

We love this girl!  It's so fun to see her personality, and how different she is from Lucy. She really is her own little person!

Challenges of taking pictures with two kids

This morning I tried to get some cute pictures of my kiddos together.  Holy. Cow.  It is so hard to get both of them smiling at the same time!

I got a few pretty cute ones:

Hooray!

Lucy's face in this one just makes me giggle.

Lucy ALMOST smiled in this one.
I got a lot of ones like these:

Kaya: When will we be done? Lucy: Ooh! Dirt!
Squirrel!
Lucy: I hate this.
I also got quite of few of these:

I love my expressive little girls! =)

Does Kaya look like her parents?

I did this with Lucy when she was a baby (with the same outfit, too!) and HAD to do it again for Kaya! =)

What do you think?  Does she look more like Logan or me?

Kaya's Six Month Stats!

Compare to Lucy six month stats here

Weight: 15 lbs 6.5 ounces (45%)
Length: 26 inches (50%)

Favorite Song: "My Little Dog Jack" "Go to Sleep You Little Babe"
Favorite Book: "On the Farm" and any book we allow her to chew on
Likes: Watching Lucy, standing up, being around people (especially other kids), chewing on things, mommy's hair, her sippy cup, shaking rattles, looking at herself in the mirror
Dislikes: Not being able to chew on everything she sees, having to entertain herself for more than 2 minutes

Mobility: Kaya loves to roll from her back to her stomach -- she discovered it helps her get closer to cool toys!  She usually forgets how to roll from her stomach to her back though, and gets frustrated.

This little roller is no longer a back sleeper!

Favorite Food: Although she's tried rice cereal and applesauce, her favorite food is definitely breast milk!

We love this little girl!  Kaya is very happy and loves to coo and smile at everyone (even if they aren't looking), and especially at her Dad.  She is a charmer.  She's still waking up about once a night, but goes to bed at 8PM and isn't up for the day until around 8AM, which is pretty doable.

She's our little tag-a-long

Thanks Sisters for the awesome exersaucer! She loves it!

"Why doesn't this fit in my mouth?!" (She usually loves it =D)

We love our happy Kaya!

Awesome randomness

This month has been pretty awesome! Here is a small sampling of our awesomeness. =)

We met up with Logan's good friend Nate and his cute fam at the Treehouse museum in Ogden. Man, I wish it was closer! It's way cooler than the children's museum in SLC.

Pioneer Lucy
Firefighter Lucy
Happy Kaya!

Since Logan and I were still not eating sugar, I made chicken pot pie for Pi day. It was delicious!

This is what Lucy wore on St Patrick's day. Not very green, but super cute, right?  We also had green milk and green eggs.  It was fun until Lucy spilled her green milk all over her dress.  =)

We love living so close to the zoo!  It's such a great low stress outing for me and the girls.  Even when it's raining.  We're hardcore like that.

My bestie Lauren and her husband Nate came down from Idaho Falls to hang out with us and meet Kaya!  It was super fun to see them!!!  We partied it up at the Aquarium and then at Rodizio's!  Please come visit again soon!

The past few weeks we've pretty much just stayed home, so I'm glad we got some awesomeness in last month.  Logan's been super busy at work, and I've been potty training Lucy.  Needless to say...
