How we adore our sweet Lucy. She is in 1st grade, and loving it! She's done so well in her Spanish Immersion (I think having a dad who speaks Spanish definitely helps takes the stress off!), and she loves reading. She is such a sweet big sister, often making sure to include River. She still loves to dance, especially her own free style. She loves to wear her hair in pigtails. She is kind and aware of others around her, and has a contagious smile and laugh. We are so grateful she is in our family!

Kaya is such a sweetheart. She is very complimentary and observant. And sometimes not so complimentary and observant. "Whoa Mom! Your hair looks like a parrot!" Haha. She has been so good with Zella, and loves to play with her. She loves to accessorize. She loves to wear headbands. Even when she sleeps. She already likes Lucy's clothes better, and wears them as often as she can get away with. She loves to wear her hair in pigtails. She loves her quilt, and cuddles with it and her mummy as often as she can. She talks in a different voice, almost baby talk, when she feels a little nervous. She tells complete strangers her life story. We love having this sweet girl in our family!

Kaya had such a fun witch party!

We love our goofy little girl!

River's two year stats

Lucy's and Kaya's two year stats

Weight: 29.9 lbs (80%)
Height: 34" (80%)

Favorite Food: Peanut butter sandwich, or just plain bread, bananas, ice cream
Favorite Book: Any Elmo book
Favorite Song: "Jesus Song!" Also Slipper Fish, Baby Shark
Favorite Toy: Her stuffed owls ("big owl" and "baby owl"), she also been playing with her doll more and more. It melts my heart!
Likes: Sophia the First ("Princess Show!"), "princess dress", "Elsa song", her sisters ("Cici" "Chaya" and "Zezza"), dancing, her "babby" (blanket), going on the Elmo potty (mostly to delay bedtime), swimming, hiking (she asked for "one more hike!" when we were done), playing monster and chasing us around.

Exhausted after camping! :)

River is such a little sweety! At 18 months she hardly knew any words, but around 21 months her language just took off! She is very independent, and often gets herself snacks, which is good and bad. Haha! She is so helpful. If she sees my water bottle, cell phone or a burp cloth, and it's not right next to me, she will bring it to me without being asked. Before Zella was born we took a little mom and tot dance class and River absolutely loved it! She especially loved galloping, tip-toeing, jumping, and making shapes. It was so adorable. Now it's fun to see her dance with her sisters! Lucy especially is so good with her, and jumps to help her when I'm busy. River still has the best smile, and is pretty hard to resist when she puts up her little pointer finger, smiles, and says, "one more!"

Such a great big sis! <3

She wants to be in every picture! (Lucy's 1st day of school)

Lucy is such sweetie. She has been loving Kindergarten and loves to read. She loves to do her homework, and even makes up homework for Kaya or me to do. She is a wonderful sister and is very helpful, although at times, very defiant. She is our little logic girl and needs to understand why before she will follow directions (just like her engineering parents). Her laugh is contagious, and she still loves to spin. We love you Lucy!

"I love Lucy. She is the best sister because she plays with me so much." -Kaya

Lucy's Lego Birthday!

This year Lucy's birthday was especially great, because Logan got the day off work! Yay! Lucy chose to go to the aquarium again this year. It was so much fun. And we were so happy that Marmie came with us!

Lucy wanted a lego birthday, and she decided how to decorate the cake. I love how she has her own ideas about things.

Lucy added the lego candy herself.

We had a fun party with Marmie, Papa, Caleb, and Grandpa (Grandma was out of town -- we missed you!). Lucy is so loved. I'm so grateful we live close to our girls' grandparents!

Lucy was not thrilled we made her take a family picture. :)
Saturday was Lucy's lego birthday party!!! I let Lucy decide what invitations we should make. We found the idea here. They were pretty intense, but I love them. Totally worth the effort.

It was Lucy's idea to write "Everything is awesome" on the back.

Lucy helped me make a lego banner for our living room. It turned out super cute. We had the idea to write "Lucy" on the dots instead of "Lego." Lucy wrote most of them herself. :)

The party was so much fun. First, we let the kids play with the giant castle blocks while we waited for everyone to arrive. They loved building the towers, but they especially loved knocking them down.

Then we let all the kids build cars out of legos (thanks, Caleb for letting us borrow your legos!), and raced them down the track (putting my old college research poster to good use). ;) They did a great job. It was fun to see the different cars they built.

Next was the lego pinata! All the credit for this goes to Logan. I was about ready to buy one or just put some crepe paper on a cardboard box, but Logan took the time to paper mache it and cover it with crepe paper. I think it turned out amazing!

Next, by Lucy's request, we played pin the head on the mini-fig. I doctored up this printable so the kids could draw their own faces. I think it was my favorite part. So cute!

Next presents, and then decorating cupcakes! We used yellow frosting and had m&ms and licorice to make faces for their little cupcake mini-fig faces. It was fun -- plus who doesn't like decorating their own cupcake?

We also drew different faces on all the places. The kids loved it.

For the treat bags we gave the kids lego candy, lego stickers, and these cool lego necklaces. They were a huge hit! All in all, we had a wonderful time. Whew! Now I'm done with birthday parties for at least 6 months! :)
