15 Month Stats

Length: 30 inches (35%)
Weight: 20 lbs 1 oz (10%)

Teeth: Four

Signs:  More, please, all done, eat, drink, banana, orange, thank you, milk, bird

Words: Hi, dada, papa, mama, book, ball, owl, bird, bye-bye, up, down, more, all done, no, thank you

Favorite food: oranges, bananas, black beans, pizza, mac and cheese

Favorite book: All picture books (AKA not board books) she loves turning the pages.  It makes me pretty nervous though...

Favorite Song:  Slippery Fish.  I only say this one because often when I sing to her, she will go "oh no!" Which I take as her request for the slippery fish song.

Lucy going "oh no!"

She loves books!

She is such a sweet girl!  And devious.  The other day she was throwing food off her high chair, so I took her tray away so she would stop.  She proceeded to spit out the food that was in her mouth, and threw that on the ground while looking at me like, "what now, Mom!"  That little stinker!

I love that she can communicate with us more!  It is so sweet when she says "thank you," and when she signs "more" when I finish singing her a song.  We sure love this little girl!!!!

Here is video evidence of Lucy's words! Thanks Aunt Shelley for the darling outfit!

Animal sounds!

I just think that this is the cutest thing ever!  Oh, how we love this little girl!

Sorry -- it's a little longer than what I normally post, I just loved her elephant sound at the very end.  Also, sorry about the food in her mouth.  If she's slightly distracted she performs much better on camera!

Say Cheese!

You may remember when I said here that I hate it when people tell you to "say cheese!" before taking your picture.  Well, while I still hate it when people tell me that, apparently it works for kiddos.

Here is Lucy saying "cheese!"

You may notice that she finally has teeth!  She had no teeth until she was 13 months old, and now, one month later, she has three!  Go Lucy!

Also, she is starting to do a lot of new things -- so here is a mini update on our 14 month old:

Height: 30 inches!  When did she get so tall? (50%)

Teeth: THREE!

Signs: Drink, bird, milk, more, please, all done, eat

Words: Up, bye-bye, hi, dada -- "hi" is definitely her favorite.

Animal sounds (yes, I think it deserves it's own category right now): monkey, elephant, sheep, snake

She is pretty much the cutest baby ever!

Dancing Queen!

Lucy loves to dance!  I bought her this little toy for $1 at the DI -- it's pretty annoying, but it entertains Lucy for hours.  Every single day, she goes downstairs and pushes the buttons to start the music so she can dance.  After the song is over she goes back over to the toy to restart the music.  It's pretty dang cute.  It's also pretty funny when, by the fifth song, she is so dizzy she falls over every other step.  =)

Year in Photos

My sister Hannah did this, and I thought it was a great idea!  So, here is our year in photos:

January: Lucy gets to go on a walk outside for the first time!  She hated it.  It was pretty cold.

February: Hannah comes and visits!

March: Lucy is blessed and Charlotte and Reed get married!

April: Lucy and I rock our Easter outfits.

May: We go to Jackson Hole for our annual anniversary trip.

June: We go down to the Hopi Indian Reservation to get back to our roots (Logan's grandpa was adopted into the Hopi tribe). We also stop by Mesa Verde.

July:  We make the drive up to Idaho Falls for Lauren's wedding! We stay at Logan's cousin's house.  Lucy loved their Minnie Mouse collection!

August: Taylor and Shawn and their kiddos come to visit!

September: Hannah and Neal and G visit!  We go river rafting near Jackson.  Logan runs his first marathon!

October:  Cali and Josh and their cute kids visit! We go to Goblin Valley (where Logan ran a 25k!)

November:  Ali gets married!

December:  Lucy is the cutest Shepherd ever!

It was a fantastic year!  We are excited to see what this year brings!

12 Month Stats

Weight: 18 lbs 14 oz (14%)

Height: 29 inches (40th -- although I really don't think she's that tall...)

Teeth: NONE!  I can't believe she still doesn't have any!***

Signs: More, please, all done, eat

Words: Hi, dada (maybe -- I'm almost convinced that she actually knows what it means.  And I'm pretty sure she thinks "mama" is milk. Sigh.)

She getting so big!

Likes: Walking! Exploring, playing hide-and-seek, being around other kids, books, drumming

Dislikes:  Being held when she wants to run around (like at Church), wearing hats

Favorite Food: Bananas, any dessert, grapes, mac and cheese (with hotdogs)

Least Favorite Food: Mashed potatoes, avocado

Lucy loves the zoo!

Favorite Book: All God's Critters

Favorite Song: Slippery Fish (she has even started doing some of the actions!), All God's Critters

Here are some videos of Lucy showing off her skills -- and don't be overwhelmed by the fact that there are three videos, the longest video is only 11 seconds long.  =)

Signing more and please -- I like this video a lot because it shows off her crazy personality!

WALKING!  She is walking everywhere now!

Saying "hi" -- I have tried and tried to get a better video of this, but she has not cooperated.  In this video she really only makes the "h" sound.  She often says "hi" better, I just liked that she is waving in the video too.

***I had to hurry and publish this post, because I'm pretty sure Lucy has a tooth that will break through soon!

Lucy's birthday party!

Lucy turned 1 one 11-11-11!  So naturally, we had to have a huge party to celebrate this special (and once in a lifetime) event!  We are so lucky to have so many friends and family that came and helped us celebrate Lucy on her special day!  Lucy had a fantastic time.  She loves cake -- although was surprisingly tentative when it came to smashing her cake.  And she LOVES people.  As far as we can tell, she had a great time.  Plus, she was an amazingly gracious gift getter, considering she is only one year old.  It was a wonderful day.  Thanks again to everyone that came!

The final damage of Lucy's cake.

She's quickly learning how to play these.
