Random Lucy Update

Just in case anyone missed our facebook announcement -- I am pregnant!  It's a girl due October 20th.  We are thrilled!

Lucy's not quite sure what's going on.

Okay, now back to Lucy.  She is such a cutie!  I feel like she has changed so much in the past month, hence another update on her life.

Teeth: Six!  If you remember, she only had four one month ago!

Favorite book: Old MacDonald -- she calls it "ol donald"
Favorite song: Old MacDonald -- she loves choosing the animals herself (some of which are hard to make sounds for -- you try to make a moose sound!). She also loves action songs.

Favorite food: This week it's blueberries.  She calls them "boobies."  I have to admit it makes me giggle every time.

Words: She is started to form sentences!  She loves to hide something behind her back and say "where did it go?"  She almost always asks "where did Dad go" when she wakes up in the morning.  It is very darling!  She is very polite and usually signs and says please and thank-you.  Because I would tell her to "ask nicely" sometimes she says "nice" and signs please.  It's pretty cute.

This month has been awesome!  We were able to go up to Alaska to visit Logan's sister Tara and her family!  Plus, right after we got back, my sister Hannah and her son Gideon came to visit!  Lucy loves playing with her cousins!   More pictures of Alaska to come!  We just have to sort through all 900 of them!  =)

In Seward, AK with her favorite Lloyd cousins!
Lucy loves slides!

Helping G brush his hair!

Feeding G -- she's going to be a great older sister!

Playing the piano!  She loves music!

And finally, a sneak peak of the gorgeous Alaska scenery.  Also, notice that I am carry two babies!  I'm pretty hardcore. =)

18 months old!

Height: 31" (25%)
Weight: 23 lbs (50%)
Teeth: 4 (one other has broken through since she turned 18 months)
Words:  A lot (although, Logan and I may be the only ones who can understand her)

Favorite song: "There was a little house in the middle of the woods..." "Ring around the rosie"
Favorite book: "I See Me" and all books with flaps

Favorite Food: Bananas, cookie dough/cake batter, strawberries
Favorite color: Purple (she doesn't really know her colors, but whenever I ask her what color something is, she says "purple" -- it's pretty cute)

Likes: Dancing, listening to music, Elmo (kind of embarrassing for me), all kinds of animals, butterflies, helping me bake, sidewalk chalk, playing with her cousins.

Oh, and as of the middle of April, I am no longer nursing her.  Lucy is fearless, and immediately climbs to the very highest point of any playground.  She also discovered that walking down and up stairs is much cooler than crawling (thanks a lot, Piper!) .  =)  She's a cutie!!!

We got Lucy's pictures taken by my friend Heidi at Monkeyface Photography a few weeks ago.  Here are a bunch of our favorites!

Peek-a-boo!
I love her dark eyes!
She insisted on trying on the tutu!

Every once in a while, Lucy acts serious. =)

15 Month Stats

Length: 30 inches (35%)
Weight: 20 lbs 1 oz (10%)

Teeth: Four

Signs:  More, please, all done, eat, drink, banana, orange, thank you, milk, bird

Words: Hi, dada, papa, mama, book, ball, owl, bird, bye-bye, up, down, more, all done, no, thank you

Favorite food: oranges, bananas, black beans, pizza, mac and cheese

Favorite book: All picture books (AKA not board books) she loves turning the pages.  It makes me pretty nervous though...

Favorite Song:  Slippery Fish.  I only say this one because often when I sing to her, she will go "oh no!" Which I take as her request for the slippery fish song.

Lucy going "oh no!"

She loves books!

She is such a sweet girl!  And devious.  The other day she was throwing food off her high chair, so I took her tray away so she would stop.  She proceeded to spit out the food that was in her mouth, and threw that on the ground while looking at me like, "what now, Mom!"  That little stinker!

I love that she can communicate with us more!  It is so sweet when she says "thank you," and when she signs "more" when I finish singing her a song.  We sure love this little girl!!!!

Here is video evidence of Lucy's words! Thanks Aunt Shelley for the darling outfit!

Animal sounds!

I just think that this is the cutest thing ever!  Oh, how we love this little girl!

Sorry -- it's a little longer than what I normally post, I just loved her elephant sound at the very end.  Also, sorry about the food in her mouth.  If she's slightly distracted she performs much better on camera!

Say Cheese!

You may remember when I said here that I hate it when people tell you to "say cheese!" before taking your picture.  Well, while I still hate it when people tell me that, apparently it works for kiddos.

Here is Lucy saying "cheese!"

You may notice that she finally has teeth!  She had no teeth until she was 13 months old, and now, one month later, she has three!  Go Lucy!

Also, she is starting to do a lot of new things -- so here is a mini update on our 14 month old:

Height: 30 inches!  When did she get so tall? (50%)

Teeth: THREE!

Signs: Drink, bird, milk, more, please, all done, eat

Words: Up, bye-bye, hi, dada -- "hi" is definitely her favorite.

Animal sounds (yes, I think it deserves it's own category right now): monkey, elephant, sheep, snake

She is pretty much the cutest baby ever!

Dancing Queen!

Lucy loves to dance!  I bought her this little toy for $1 at the DI -- it's pretty annoying, but it entertains Lucy for hours.  Every single day, she goes downstairs and pushes the buttons to start the music so she can dance.  After the song is over she goes back over to the toy to restart the music.  It's pretty dang cute.  It's also pretty funny when, by the fifth song, she is so dizzy she falls over every other step.  =)
