Just like her daddy. . .
Yep, I'm pretty sure Lucy is going to be a drummer when she grows up.
Oh, and maybe an engineer too.
And I'm pretty sure we need this onesie for Lucy. =)
I can't believe this little girl will be one year old next month!!

I love when my sisters come to town!
This summer I was lucky enough to have two of my sisters come visit (plus we are very excited for Cali's visit this month!!)!! We had so much fun with Taylor and Shawn, and Madeline and Asher! Lucy is at the age where she loves being around other kids, and was fascinated watching Mad and Asher play. Plus, Lucy was very tolerant of Asher mauling her. =) It was also great celebrating Madeline and Asher's birthdays! They were so so cute when opening presents. It was very rewarding.

About a month later, Hannah and Neal and their baby G came to visit! Now it was Lucy's turn to maul!
It was so good to finally meet G! Gideon is such a cute chunky baby! Even though he is 6 months younger than Lucy, he outweighs her by a whole pound!!! At least she makes up for size in mobility -- she could take him any day. =) We had so much fun river rafting with Han and Neal (another post about that to come soon...) and just chilling at the pool. Oh, how I love just chilling with my siblings!
I love my sisters, and love spending time with them and their families. I can't wait for Cali, Josh, Piper, and Bastian to come visit!

10 Month Stats
So, I realize that I haven't done Lucy's stats in a very long time. So here is a quick picture recap of Lucy's past few months:
And now, without further ado: Lucy's 10 month stats!
Height: 27.5 inches (25%)
Weight: 17 pounds 5 ounces (28%)
Teeth: Zero! Apparently, she is a very late teether -- no complaints here!
Favorite Book: "All God's Critters"
Favorite Song: "Slippery Fish" (thanks for introducing it to us Tay, Mad, and Asher!)
Favorite Food: Bananas, cheese, pretty much anything she can pick up with her fingers
Least Favorite Food: Avocado -- this is actually the only food she refuses eat.
Likes: Standing up, exploring, looking at books, being outside, keys, swimming, swinging in a swing, mirrors, looking at pictures of herself and other babies, being around her cousins!
Dislikes: Being held or contained (like at Church), showers -- that's all I can think of! She is a very self-entertained, happy, and chill baby.

In which a sheep bites Lucy
A few months ago there was a groupon for This Is the Place Heritage Park in Salt Lake City. Since we live about 10 minutes away, I decided that we should check it out.
Our first stop was the mini pioneer village! It was very cute -- we had fun taking lots of pictures of Lucy.

We also went on a train ride, a mini train ride, learned about pioneer chores, and made arrowhead necklaces. All in all, we had a pretty fun time. Hey, I might even go again -- especially since I have still have one groupon left. =)

Our next stop was the petting zoo! Lucy was having a fun time petting the goats and sheep, and even started laughing when the sheep licked her fingers. Okay, at this point I probably should have clued in, and moved Lucy's hand away from the sheep's mouth. Sadly, I did not, and the next thing I know, Lucy is crying hysterically because the sheep bit her! Poor girl. I just hope she's not traumatized for life!

The Rare and Special Place
Doesn't this sort of remind you of a witch's house?
It really is beautiful, and we had a fun time walking and taking pictures of passing birds. Although we did discover that our jogging stroller's alignment is WAY off. And by WAY off, I mean we were off the edge of the boardwalk in six steps! As you can see, we ditched the stroller and ended up carrying Lucy on our shoulders for most of the way (which could also be due to the fact that Lucy would scream whenever we put her in the stroller).

Also at the beginning of the summer (maybe I should blog more often...) we went up to Promentory Point to watch my Uncle Eric in a shooting competition. Basically they shoot really old guns using bullets they made themselves and use only metal sights to aim. It was pretty impressive. The target was a metal buffalo that was over 1,000 yards away. It took the bullet about 4 seconds to reach it. It was insane. I tried to draw an arrow on the picture above to point to the buffalo, but the arrow is kind of small. Pretty much, you could barely see the buffalo without looking through a scope. It was really cool. Plus Lucy was an amazingly good sport -- she wasn't bothered at all by the loud noise of the guns.
After, we drove over to the Spiral Jetty since we were so close. If you have never been, it is definitely worth going. Check it out!

Funny Faces
Lucy makes such cute little faces. However, as shown in the previous post -- Lucy loves the camera. This makes it hard to get candid pictures of her, because as soon as she sees the camera, she stops doing whatever she was doing and starts smiling and trying to grab the camera. I was, however, able to capture a few gems:
Here are some picture of my new favorite thing that Lucy does. I don't know why she started making this face, but she does it all the time. She also breathes through her nose very loudly when she makes this face. It makes me laugh every time.
I almost forgot I had a video of her making her scrunch face! Enjoy!
Oh, how we love this little girl!
Apparently, pine needles are gross
Still not loving peas (she was making this face with every bite!)

Say Cheese!*
Lucy has started smiling at the camera. It is the cutest thing ever! Here is a great example (and my new favorite picture of Lucy and Logan):
Darling, right? And after a while, she starts doing a fake smile:
Now, you probably don't believe me. But here is proof. Lucy was being pretty whiny today, and I took a video of her (mostly so I could show Logan how awesome my day was -- haha!), and as soon as she saw the camera she started to smile really big. She is pretty cute.
*On a side note, I hate it when people try to get you to "say cheese" (or any other word, for that matter) for the camera. Seriously people, we can all smile without saying something.
