I love to see the Temple!

We were so excited to go to the Ogden Temple open house last week. The girls were so cute. We told Lucy to listen for the Holy Ghost, so whenever she heard music, she asked if it was the Holy Ghost. Kaya was so excited to see the baptismal font and literally jumped up and down while shouting, "water!" It was fun to take them in the temple with us!

Cheesy, but all everyone's smiling!

Since Logan's parents couldn't come, we made them a little video! =)

Happy birthday to me and Taylor comes to visit!

I love birthdays. A lot of people keep telling me that I will start to hate my birthday as I get older. I say to them that any day where people make me delicious food, buy me presents, and generally treat me like royalty is a fantastic day!

This year was especially great. Logan woke up early and made me tapioca pudding and orange julius. Then, Mom watched the kids while Taylor and Shawn took me (and Caleb) out to Lee's Mongolian BBQ in Ogden, bought me gelato, and took me to see the movie Edge of Tomorrow (I loved it!). I felt super spoiled. Thanks again Taylor and Shawn!!!

In the evening I got one of the worst migraines ever, so we scrapped our previous plans and I had Logan go pick up Cafe Rio (delish!). Plus after dinner we opened presents and even Kaya sang happy birthday. All in all, and in spite of the migraine, it was a fantastic day!

The only picture I took on my birthday -- I need to be better!

The next day we all drove up to Mirror Lake! It was gorgeous and we had so much fun hiking, fishing, and canoeing.

I love this photo -- you can see Kaya taking the pic in the reflection!
Kaya and Lucy LOVED canoeing
Lucy caught a fish!
She was very excited about it. =)
We even hiked all the way to Blithe Lake!
It's always so fun to hang out with Madeline!
Lucy took this picture of Caleb and me. =)
Lucy got lazy on the way home and relied on the sympathies of Papa and Shawn to carry her.

It was so fun hanging out with Tay and Shawn, and Madeline and Asher! Lucy asked me yesterday if Madeline and Asher would be at Marmie's house. I wish, Lucy!

Madeline read tons of books to Lucy. Lucy LOVED it!

Asher loves Caleb!

Lucy and Kaya love their cousins! Come back soon, please!

A Camera for the Girls!

A couple of weeks ago I remembered that Logan and I have an old camera that we don't use anymore. I decided to charge it up, and give it to the girls! So far, it has been very entertaining.

Lucy first picture. Not too bad!

Kaya loves posing for the camera!

Lucy decided to document Logan making dinner.

Sometimes toddlers' pictures are at a slightly awkward height. Or, I would say, at the perfect height! ;)

Kaya likes to take pictures too. Most of them look like this:

Some of my favorites look like this:

And some of her best look like this:

It's true, sometimes you get awkward photos,

But sometimes you get pretty dang cute ones.

Plus, I love giving these girls a little a chance to express themselves and to see a glimpse of the world from their perspective. I love these girls so much!!!

Next up... the girls document our trip to Mirror Lake with Taylor and Shawn!

Lucy loves to sing!

Lucy wanted to sing some songs for Grandpa, since we won't get to see him today! We love you!

And of course, she wanted to video all of the Frozen songs too. =)

Kaya is 18 months old!

Look at that little dimple!

Weight: 22 lbs (20%)
Height: 32" (55%)

Favorite Food: Avacado! Cheese, cottage cheese, crackers, milk, frozen peas
Least Favorite Food: I don't think she has one -- she is a great little eater!

Here's a little video of Kaya excited for some avocado or as she calls it, "cado!"

Favrotie Song: Elmo's Song (she calls it "La la la"), or Stinky Feet
Favorite Book: Any book that has Elmo in it
Words: She is talking so much! It's so much fun! One of her first sentences was "Daddy's at work." Sad, but funny. She has also started saying and signing "thank you" unprompted. I love it!

Likes: Reading, singing, dancing, listening to music, following Lucy around, playing in the dirt, playing with water (but only when she's not in the bath), watching Elmo, swinging, sharing Papa's drink
Dislikes: Not getting attention, when Lucy steals her toys

Sharing with Papa!

She is such a happy little girl and always brightens my day. She loves to talk and tries to show off by pointing and identifying thing around the room. It makes me laugh. She has started cuddling! She will also randomly run over and throw her arms around my neck. It is the sweetest thing ever! We love our little Kaya girl!

I did her hair in pigtails -- she didn't like it.

It's really hard to get a good picture with two kids. =)

Notice the curl!
Future scientist!
Kaya signing "peas" (my favorite sign!), and then her liberal interpretation of the sign "please"

This is especially for Tara! Thanks for introducing this song to us! And in case you can't tell, Kaya starts out the video saying "Kaya."

Lucy's First Primary Talk!

Lucy gave her first talk in Primary last Sunday. She did such a great job!  We recorded her giving her talk especially for her Grandma and Grandpa who are in Ghana! We love and miss you!

It's pretty quiet, so you'll have to turn up your volume.

Here is the text of her talk (I'm too lazy to put in subtitles):
"Jesus told a story about a shepherd who had 100 sheep.  One day one of the sheep got lost. The shepherd left the 99 sheep in a safe place, and went to look for the one lost sheep. When he found the sheep, he was happy. He put the sheep on his shoulders and carried it home. When he got home, he and his friends were so happy the sheep was safe.

"Jesus is like the shepherd, and we are like the sheep. Jesus watches over us, and helps us when we are lost. He is happy when we choose the right.

"In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen."

Kaya wanted to give a talk too. =)

Kaya's 15 month stats!

 Kaya is 15 months old!

Height: 30.5"
Teeth: 5
Hair: Mullet-y, but curly, so it doesn't look as bad! =)

Favorite food: Avocado, cheese, cottage cheese, yogurt, frozen peas, scrambled eggs
Least favorite food: Applesauce

Favorite book: "Are You My Mother"
Signs: Milk, food, drink, please, more, banana, peas
Words: Mama, Dada, Cee-a (for Lucy), please, milk, peas, Chex, shoe, cheese, hat, nose, eye, mouth, book, Papa, uh-oh, hot, hi, bye, prune, up, yeah, no, ball
Likes: Animals, especially cats.  She calls all animals by their sound, it's adorable! Music, dancing, Lucy, shoes, dressing up, watching it snow, having us read to her (she brings over a book, and then backs up onto our laps!), playing with and kissing her stuffed animals and dolls
Dislikes: Sharing with Lucy

Bedhead!
I LOVE this stage! Kaya is learning so many news words.  She loves to dance and sing, especially when Lucy is dancing or singing. It's so fun to see them play together.  They are so fun!  Kaya is a mover. It is so hard to get pictures of her, because she is always running around! She is so sweet -- she will often come over to me and give me a hug or a kiss out of the blue. It makes my day.  I love our darling little girl!

Silly face!

Sisters!
